Boosting privacy in your garden

Privacy is important in the UK. We like to be friendly to our neighbours, of course, however, we also all understand and appreciate the benefits of having privacy, especially in our own homes and gardens. If you’re keen on making your garden a little more private so you’re not in the view of surrounding neighbours, here are a few options to take into consideration.
Add a garden gate that doesn’t allow for peeking
There are so many garden gates for sale online and in garden centres, so why not choose a design that doesn’t allow your neighbours to peak through. Wrought iron fences usually feature solid bars that allow people to see into your garden, but if you opted for solid timber, then you can completely block out that view, and know that when you’re lying on the garden sofa, nobody is looking at you from across the street!
Can your fences be a little taller?
Having a taller fence is a nice place to start if you’re looking to boost security. We’re not saying you need to build a 10ft tall wall or fence, but adding a little more height with trellis can add style to your garden and a little more privacy too, so we do think this is a pretty good option.
Add a hub for private downtime
When we say a ‘hub’ we simply mean a little place you can call your own in the garden whereby you can relax, feeling as though you’re at peace with nothing but the surrounding wildlife to keep you company, such as birds, bees and squirrels! This could be a summerhouse, a patio seating area or a garden pod. There are lots of options out there, but we do recommend you create an area you can enjoy for most of the year, so investing in an outdoor heater is a good place to start.
